Malavika shot to fame at the age of 19, with her debut in the 1999 Tamil movie Unnai Thedi with Ajith. Directed by Sundas Rana., the film went on to be a major blockbuster and started her professional career. Another hit followed in the multi-starrer Anandha Poongatre, co-starring Ajith, Karthik and famous actress Meena. She let show of her acting skills in the film Rojavanam as an actress and later she left three more hits in the film industry.
